Cannonball Adderley–SOMETHIN’ ELSE

Julius “Cannonball” Adderley (1928-1975) was a jazz alto saxophonist whose work can be heard on such albums as Miles Davis’ KIND OF BLUE. In a 2001 interview, A.B. Spellman of the National Endowment for the Arts” calls this 1958 album (also a collaboration with Davis) “near perfect” and describes Adderley as “a fluid musician…a musician for whom playing was so easy, that sometimes it seemed that he wasn’t even paying attention to what he was doing.”
